Iranian green tea

The smell and aroma of good tea is quite obvious and good quality green tea is usually fragrant and almost sweet. If you do not smell tea aroma, it is old and inferior tea.

Perhaps the most effective way to evaluate the quality of green tea is to taste it. You can buy some brands of green tea in very small quantities and try them first, and if you are satisfied with their taste, buy that type of tea in a larger volume. Of course, some people who are professionals in tasting tea can also be good guides and help you choose good tea.

Some teas, such as maca, naturally have an almost sweet taste due to the presence of an amino acid called theanine. In fact, these teas grow in the shade and under canopies. When the tea does not grow in the shade, its taste becomes a little bitter.

What does good green tea look like?

Another thing to consider when buying green tea is the appearance of its leaves. When examining tea leaves, consider three important things: the shape, color, and texture of the tea leaves:

The shape of the tea leaves

The shape of tea leaves varies depending on the type. For example, the leaves of some green teas are crunchy and nutty. The point to note here is that all tea leaves should be the same size. If you see a combination of small and large leaves, that tea is of low quality. In addition, tea shards should be very small and you should not see small and long stems inside.

The color of the leaves

When it comes to the color of green tea leaves, the greener the better. For example, high-quality maca green tea is lighter in green because it grows under a canopy, and its leaves are high in chlorophyll. Poor quality green tea, on the other hand, tends to be more yellow and brown. Because the leaves have either not grown in the shade or have lost their freshness and become old.

Also, tea that is not green indicates that it is oxidized and that green tea is not pure.

Unlike black tea, green tea does not undergo an oxidation (fermentation) process, so when green tea is produced, the fermentation step is not performed on them and the chlorophyll substance that causes the green color of the plant remains in the tea leaves.

In addition, most of the natural antioxidants in tea leaves in this type of tea remain intact and healthy. When you brew green tea, the color of the brewed tea should still be green.

Tea texture

Green tea usually has a distinct texture. Some green teas, such as maca tea, have a soft powdery texture. The size of the leaves of this type of tea is very small and in the range of 5 to 10 microns. The softness of this tea is very similar to baby powder.

On the other hand, the larger the size of the tea leaves, the lower the quality of the tea. You feel its roughness when you hold its leaves between your fingers. Also, when buying tea, be careful that it does not contain tea waste.

Tea cause calms

We are all well aware of and have experienced the soothing properties of black tea. Black tea not only relaxes you at the end of a long and tiring day, but studies show that the amino acid L-thiatin in black tea can help you relax and concentrate better. On the other hand, regular consumption of black tea also reduces the secretion of the stress hormone cortisol.
